ACCOMMODATION ~
Selvin's - crazy cheap, such nice owners, greeted in the morning with free coffee & conversation, beach access just down the road
Lizard King - cheap, pool, good location just outside of town, not too loud
The Lotus Garden - cheap, sloths in the trees, tucked away space, comfy bed, paper thin walls
Various cabinas all over - similar to a homestay but private space on a family run property
CAFES ~
Cafe Rico - for breakfast, book swap
Bread & Chocolate - for dessert & coffee
Madre Teirra - for cocktails inside of coconuts & Costa Rican food
Como en mi Casa - for your health nut side, gluten free & vegan options, great hospitality
BEACHES ~
No name beaches - I'm sure they're named but we just rented bicycles and rode the street until finding trails to beaches. The most calm and gorgeous beach was stumbled upon by heading south of Punta Uva. Go find it for yourself!
Cocles - by far my favorite spot. The waves were steady and fun to float on. A bike ride outside of town. Rasta vibes.
Playa Negra - black sand, how cool?
HEALTH + WELLNESS ~
I didn't explore this side of Costa Rica because I was working an Acro Yoga retreat. There are plenty of options to learn to surf, to SUP, to practice yoga (check OM Yoga), to trek the jungle and more!
PARTY ~
KOKi Beach - gorgeous scene
Lazy Mon - beach vibes, traveler scene
EZ Times - wood fired pizzas, DJ's late night, cool Costa Rican vibes
Salsa Brava - for your daytime drink needs
Tasty Waves - for your daytime drink & Cali/Mex needs - Cocles side
